Avera Health Plans provides options to meet people where they are in life. Most members who enroll in an individual and family Marketplace plan with us are eligible for premium tax credit savings that help lower their monthly costs.

Our plans give you options for choosing your doctor and deductible — including $0 deductible plans and lower cost bronze, silver and catastrophic plans.
Two Network Options
- DirectConnect: Avera Health Plans is expanding DirectConnect network access (formerly called the Direct Network) to more counties. Brown, Lincoln, and Minnehaha counties remain in the network, with Davison, Hanson, Hutchinson, McCook and Yankton counties being added in 2026. This could mean potential savings to you if you live in these counties and regularly visit Avera doctors and facilities.
- ConnectPlus: This network (formerly called the Traditional Network) includes a variety of health care systems across the region, including Avera. You'll also get the benefit of our national network with United Healthcare® Options PPO if you're traveling or have a dependent living outside of the Avera Health Plans network. This network includes 1.3 million physicians and health care professionals and 6,500 hospitals nationwide.
